UAE and France Partner on 1GW AI Data Center, Investing €30 Billion

The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has announced a €30 billion ($31 billion) investment to build an artificial intelligence (AI) data center in France, French Foreign Minister Jean-Noël Barrot revealed on Friday via the platform X.

UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan visited France on Thursday, where he was hosted by French President Emmanuel Macron for a dinner at the Élysée Palace, during which discussions focused on AI collaboration.

The UAE and France have reached a joint framework agreement for the AI data center, which will have a capacity of 1 gigawatt (GW).

Both countries are expected to continue investing in AI, including building new AI data centers and acquiring advanced chips, according to a joint statement.
