Jordan and Turkey Strengthen Ties Amid Regional Challenges

On January 27, 2025, Jordan's Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Ayman Safadi met with Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan to discuss enhancing bilateral relations and regional developments.

According to a statement from the Jordanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, both ministers emphasized the depth of the bilateral ties and their mutual commitment to increasing coordination and cooperation across various fields.

They stressed the importance of solidifying the ceasefire in Gaza and facilitating urgent humanitarian aid to initiate reconstruction efforts, highlighting the collaboration between the two nations in delivering assistance.

Safadi and Fidan reiterated that the establishment of a sovereign Palestinian state along the June 4, 1967 lines with East Jerusalem as its capital is the only path to achieving a just and comprehensive peace in the region.

Additionally, they discussed the necessity of commencing the reconstruction of Gaza and ensuring the stability of Palestinians in their homeland, rejecting displacement.

The ministers also addressed steps to support the Syrian people in rebuilding their country based on principles that guarantee their security, stability, freedom, and sovereignty while preserving the rights of all its components.

They confirmed ongoing coordination and collaboration in joint efforts to enhance security and stability in the region.
