Bolivia Advances Biodiesel Plant Construction to 84% Completion in El Alto

The biodiesel plant "Héroes de Senkata" in El Alto, Bolivia, is nearing completion with 84% of construction finished. This project, initiated in August 2023, represents a significant milestone in the industrialization efforts led by President Luis Arce.

With an investment exceeding $460 million, the facility is set to create over 500 direct jobs. Located in District 8 of El Alto, the plant aims to produce 1,500 barrels of biodiesel daily, contributing to fuel diversification and reducing reliance on oil.

This initiative seeks to bolster the local economy and promote sustainable practices by utilizing vegetable oils as an alternative to conventional diesel. Named after the "Heroes of Senkata" who lost their lives in the 2019 protests, the project signifies a step towards energy self-sufficiency and a notable decrease in polluting emissions.

Furthermore, the inauguration of the plant underscores Bolivia's commitment to technological innovation and sustainability, positioning the industry as a driver of economic and social development for the country.
