Republic of Congo to Host Inaugural Congo Energy Investment Forum in 2025, Announced at African Energy Week

The Republic of Congo's Ministry of Hydrocarbons has announced the inaugural Congo Energy & Investment Forum (CEIF), set for March 25-26, 2025, in Brazzaville. This announcement was made during the African Energy Week: Invest in African Energy event in Cape Town on November 4, 2024.

Under the leadership of Hydrocarbons Minister Bruno Jean-Richard Itoua, the RoC aims to become sub-Saharan Africa's fourth-largest oil producer, with projected production reaching 280,000 barrels of oil per day by the end of 2024. CEIF is expected to showcase significant investment opportunities and new projects in the country's energy sector.

The national oil company, Société Nationale des Pétroles du Congo (SNPC), led by Managing Director Maixent Raoul Ominga, is driving this growth with initiatives that include the development of 13 wells and extensive seismic data acquisition.

CEIF will gather government leaders, investors, and industry experts to discuss the RoC's latest upstream developments and foster connections for impactful collaborations. The event will also feature the release of the country's comprehensive Gas Master Plan, aimed at unlocking gas potential and attracting new investments.

The Republic of Congo holds over 10 trillion cubic feet of proven natural gas reserves and achieved its first LNG exports from Eni's Tango FLNG facility in February 2024. The country targets 3 million tons of LNG production annually by 2025.
