Arctech Secures Major Solar Tracker Supply Agreement in Saudi Arabia, Boosting MEA Portfolio to 15 GW

XIAMEN, China, Oct. 24, 2024 — Arctech, a leading provider of solar tracking and racking solutions, has signed a significant supply agreement with China Energy Engineering Group Co., Ltd. for its 1P single-axis solar tracking system, SkyLine II. The agreement entails the provision of 2.3 GW of solar trackers for the PIF4-Haden project operated by ACWA Power.

This project, situated in a desert region prone to high winds, will utilize Arctech's innovative synchronous multi-point drive mechanism, allowing for effective operation under challenging conditions. The SkyLine II system can be stowed horizontally and withstands wind speeds up to 22 m/s, enhancing its resilience and optimizing power generation.

Expected to commence commercial operations by early 2027, the project is projected to produce approximately 156.189 billion kilowatt-hours over 25 years, leading to a reduction of nearly 147 million tons of carbon dioxide emissions.

Since its establishment in the region in 2017, Arctech has expanded its presence with offices in Dubai and Riyadh, along with manufacturing facilities in Jeddah. The company aims to support Saudi Arabia's Vision 2030 through localized strategies and comprehensive service offerings.
