The Information and Decision Support Center (IDSC) at the Egyptian Cabinet has released a pivotal analysis on the future of employment, emphasizing the dual impact of technology and globalization on the labor market. This report highlights a mix of optimism and caution, predicting significant changes in job opportunities due to these forces.

Despite challenges from technological advancements, new job opportunities are emerging across various industries. The analysis indicates a growing demand for non-routine jobs that require analytical skills, contrasting with the automation of routine tasks. Between 2007 and 2018, the adoption of modern technology in the U.S. resulted in the loss of approximately 2.6 million jobs, particularly in administrative roles.

Recent trends show accelerated adoption of advanced technologies by companies, with cloud computing, big data, and e-commerce leading the charge. Meanwhile, artificial intelligence is transforming sectors such as digital information, finance, healthcare, and transportation, while industries like mining increasingly utilize big data and robotics.

By 2025, it's estimated that 85 million jobs will be displaced, yet 97 million new roles are expected to arise, reflecting the evolving relationship between humans and machines. Key emerging roles include data analysts, AI specialists, and cybersecurity experts.

The report emphasizes the need for comprehensive reskilling programs and educational reforms to align workforce skills with future market demands. Strategic planning is crucial for ensuring sustainable economic growth alongside technological advancements.
