Google Chrome Introduces Native PDF Reader for Android Users

Chỉnh sửa bởi: Veronika Nazarova

Google Chrome for Android has finally introduced a long-awaited native PDF reader, eliminating the need for third-party applications to view PDF documents directly in the browser. Previously, users had to download PDFs and open them with separate PDF readers, adding unnecessary steps to the process.

This new feature, which has transitioned from the experimental Google Chrome Canary version to the stable release, allows users to view PDFs inline. To enable it, users simply need to modify a flag by navigating to

chrome://flags/

, searching for 'Open PDF Inline on Android', and activating it. A browser restart is required to access this functionality.

Once enabled, users can open PDF documents directly within Chrome, streamlining their browsing experience. Additionally, the native reader includes editing tools, allowing users to highlight important sections and save copies of annotated documents. This enhancement positions Google Chrome on par with competitors like Firefox, which has offered similar functionality for some time.
