Tata Technologies InnoVent Hackathon Showcases AI Innovations by Students

Launched in June 2024, the Tata Technologies InnoVent hackathon, supported by Microsoft and Tata Motors, concluded its second edition, inspiring engineering students across India to innovate using Generative AI.

Held at Tata Technologies headquarters in Hinjawadi, Pune, the event allowed students to present solutions addressing real-world challenges in the manufacturing sector. The top ten teams showcased their prototypes on Demo Day.

The winning team, CodeZephyr from Chandigarh University, received a cash prize of INR 300,000 for their project on sustainable material integration.

Spaingit Coder from Thapar Institute secured the second prize of INR 100,000 for AI-driven noise cancellation in cars.

Pluto from Sri Krishna College won third place with INR 50,000 for their Generative AI customer support solution.

Tata Technologies offered job opportunities and internships to 39 participants from the top teams, emphasizing their commitment to fostering innovation among young engineers.

CEO Warren Harris remarked on the importance of collaboration with academia to solve industry challenges, while Microsoft and Tata Motors expressed enthusiasm for the potential applications of the innovations presented.
