European Film Academy Honors 2024 Award Winners in Lucerne on December 7

The European Film Academy has announced the winners of the 2024 Excellence Awards, celebrating achievements in the arts across eight categories. Notable recipients include British director Benjamin Crown for Best European Cinematography for his film The Matter, praised for its unique portrayal of protagonist Elizabeth Sparkle's (Demi Moore) physical and emotional decline.

The ceremony will take place on December 7 in Lucerne, Switzerland, where winners will receive their accolades from a specialized jury of eight members.

French editor Juliette Wilfling won Best Editing for Emilia Perez, lauded for the film's seamless narrative flow. Polish production designer Jagna Dobesz was recognized for her work on The Girl with the Needle, which vividly illustrates the post-World War I struggles of a young woman in Copenhagen.

Austrian costume designer Tanja Hausner received the Best Costume Design award for Devil's Bath, while Dutch artist Evalot Oosterop was honored for Best Makeup and Hairstyling in When the Light Breaks.

Additionally, the Best Original Score went to Frederik Hofmeier for The Girl with the Needle, and the Best Sound award was shared by Mark Olivier Brollet and team for The Story of Solomon.

The awards highlight the critical contributions of various crafts to the film industry, showcasing talent and innovation.
