The Egyptian Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities has announced a significant archaeological discovery at the Saqqara site, located south of Cairo. An international excavation team from France and Switzerland uncovered a 4,000-year-old mastaba tomb.
This tomb belonged to a royal physician who served under Pharaoh Pepy II, who reigned from 2278 to 2184 BCE. Pepy II was the last ruler of the Sixth Dynasty during Egypt's Old Kingdom.
