In collaboration with Petrolimex Aviation, VietJet successfully completed two SAF-powered flights, one to Melbourne, Australia, and the other to Seoul, South Korea.
Sustainable aviation fuel, derived from renewable sources such as used cooking oil and agricultural byproducts, can reduce carbon emissions by up to 80% compared to traditional fossil fuels. These inaugural flights represent a major advancement for VietJet and Vietnam's aviation sector, emphasizing the airline's commitment to greener air travel.
VietJet's CEO, Mr. Dinh Viet Phuong, expressed pride in this achievement, highlighting its significance for eco-friendly aviation. The airline aims to further reduce carbon emissions and enhance sustainable growth, providing environmentally conscious options for passengers on international routes.
