Global Vaccination Campaign Against Influenza and COVID-19 Begins in Mexico for Winter 2024-2025

On October 10, 2024, La Laguna de Durango, Mexico, received its first shipment of vaccines as part of the vaccination strategy for the winter season 2024-2025. The vaccination campaign, targeting both Influenza and COVID-19, will commence on October 15, 2024, and run until March 28, 2025.

Health authorities, led by Luis Fernando Olvera Martínez, confirmed the arrival of 12,000 doses of the Influenza vaccine, prioritizing high-risk groups such as healthcare workers, seniors over 60, pregnant women, and individuals aged 5 to 59 with comorbidities. The overall goal for the season is to administer a total of 50,000 doses.

In the neighboring state of Coahuila, the vaccination campaign will officially launch in Torreón on October 14, 2024. Health Secretary Eliud Felipe Aguirre Vázquez announced that the vaccines will be administered simultaneously across five regions, with a target of 980,000 doses for the winter season.
