The Greek Civil Protection Authority declared a state of emergency on the island of Amorgos on Wednesday following a series of earthquakes. This measure aims to protect residents and expedite the delivery of state aid.
Amorgos was struck by a magnitude 5 earthquake on Wednesday afternoon. The island is located approximately 90 kilometers northeast of Santorini, where a state of emergency was declared two days prior due to ongoing seismic activity.
Since late January, over 14,000 tremors have been recorded around Santorini, Amorgos, Ios, and Anafi.
