Ukrainian Forces Target Russian Command Centers Amid Ongoing Advances

Ukrainian military forces have intensified their attacks on Russian command posts, successfully striking a headquarters in the occupied Donetsk region. According to the General Staff in Kyiv, the targeted facility was located in the town of Novohrodivka and was associated with the 2nd Russian Guards Army, which is currently advancing towards the strategically significant city of Pokrovsk.

Video footage released later shows the extensive airstrike that caused significant damage to a multi-story building, resulting in a large plume of smoke rising from the site.

This operation is described as part of a series of strikes aimed at disrupting the command structure of Russian forces, marking the third such attack in recent days. Both warring parties have increasingly focused on targeting each other's command centers, utilizing intelligence from radio reconnaissance and reconnaissance units behind enemy lines.

In the previous week, Ukrainian defenders had already neutralized a combat command of the Russian army in Svitlodarsk, as well as a command post in Khartsyzk the week before. Despite these precision strikes, the Russian army continues its slow advance in the Donetsk region. Contributing factors include a shortage of infantry personnel within the Ukrainian army and a significant lack of artillery ammunition.
