Significant Drone Attacks on Moscow and Russian Regions Reported on November 10, 2024

On November 10, 2024, Moscow experienced a substantial drone attack, with the city's mayor, Sergey Sobyanin, reporting the destruction of 32 drones targeting the capital. This incident marks one of the largest assaults since the onset of Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine.

The drones were primarily directed towards the Ramensky and Domodedovo districts south of Moscow, prompting temporary flight suspensions at Domodedovo and Zhukovsky airports. Local media reported that the attack resulted in a fire in the Ramensky area, damaging several homes and injuring a 52-year-old woman.

In a morning briefing, the Russian Ministry of Defense claimed to have intercepted 23 Ukrainian drones the previous night, with the majority shot down over Bryansk, as well as others over Rostov, Belgorod, and Kursk regions.

Additionally, several waves of drone attacks were reported in Moscow, leading to operational restrictions at major airports, including Domodedovo, Zhukovsky, and Sheremetyevo. Eyewitness accounts indicated that private homes in the Moscow suburbs caught fire following the drone strikes.

The governor of the Moscow region, Andrey Vorobyov, confirmed that two houses were set ablaze in the Stanovoye settlement due to the drone debris, with one local resident hospitalized for burns.

Since spring 2024, drone attacks on Russian regions have become increasingly frequent, with Moscow attributing these assaults to the Ukrainian armed forces. However, Ukrainian officials rarely comment on such incidents.
