Xiaomi Unveils HyperOS 2.0: AI-Powered Operating System

Xiaomi has announced HyperOS 2.0, a significant upgrade to its operating system, during the launch of its flagship smartphones, the Xiaomi 15 and Xiaomi 15 Pro. This new version is touted as the most efficient OS yet, integrating advanced AI functionalities and designed to adapt across various devices within Xiaomi's ecosystem.

HyperOS 2.0 introduces HyperCore, a proprietary technology that enhances performance, graphics, connectivity, and security. Users can expect improved resource management, smoother animations, optimized 5G and Wi-Fi connectivity, and enhanced security features through dedicated hardware.

The customization options have been significantly enhanced with AI capabilities, allowing users to set dynamic video backgrounds and generate wallpapers through AI. The home screen has been revamped with new widgets and smoother animations, improving the overall user experience.

A notable addition is the new 3D weather app that updates in real-time, leveraging AI for accurate forecasting. The operating system also extends its reach beyond smartphones and tablets, introducing new watch face aesthetics for smartwatches and dynamic screensavers for smart TVs.

HyperConnect, a feature of HyperOS, enhances interoperability among Xiaomi devices, allowing for seamless file transfers and a new desktop mode for tablets. Users can now stream content from their phones to TVs and control smart devices via gestures from their smartwatches.

Furthermore, Xiaomi Internet Service enables connectivity between Xiaomi and Apple devices, facilitating file transfers between iPhones, iPads, and Macs. The digital assistant, Super Xiao AI, is accessible from any screen, assisting users with various tasks.

HyperOS 2.0 also includes generative AI features such as automatic summarization, voice recognition for real-time transcription, and tools for writing and editing. All AI functionalities operate within a secure private cloud, ensuring user data protection.

HyperOS 2.0 is now available on the Xiaomi 15 series, Xiaomi Pad 7, Xiaomi Watch S4, and Xiaomi Smart Band 9 Pro. A beta version will roll out for additional devices in China from November to December 2024, with wider availability expected in early 2025.
