Sony and Honda Launch Afeela 1 Electric Sedan at CES 2025

Sony and Honda have unveiled their first joint electric vehicle, the Afeela 1, at CES 2025 in Las Vegas. This marks the debut of their new automotive brand, Sony Honda Mobility (SHM).

The Afeela 1, a sedan, is priced starting at $89,900 in the US, with a higher variant available for $102,900. Pre-orders are now open, requiring a $200 reservation fee. The vehicle will launch in California in 2025, with the Signature model expected to reach buyers by mid-2026. Japan is also included in the rollout plans for 2026.

Standard features include all-wheel drive, powered by two 180 kW electric motors and a 91 kWh lithium-ion battery, offering an EPA-rated range of 480 kilometers. Charging options include a NACS connector for 150 kW (DC) and 11 kW (AC) charging, with compatibility for Tesla Supercharging.

The Afeela 1 incorporates advanced driver assistance systems, featuring 40 sensors, including cameras and LiDAR, and an interactive personal agent for vehicle communication. It also boasts a unique sound system and strategically placed displays for passengers. Over-the-air updates will enhance the vehicle's capabilities.

Manufactured in Ohio, the Afeela 1 is based on Honda's upcoming e:Architecture platform.
