Alibaba Launches AI Tool to Boost U.S. SMEs Sales

Alibaba Group has launched Pic Copilot, an AI ecommerce design tool aimed at supporting U.S. small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) on its global marketplace platform.

Pic Copilot features 12 AI tools that assist in tasks such as background swapping, photo and video enhancement, virtual try-ons, and ad visual generation, all designed to reduce costs and improve sales.

The tool's development was informed by initial rollouts, indicating that SMEs prioritize visuals that enhance sales over aesthetic designs. Built on 250 million parameters, it analyzes image backgrounds' impact on click-through rates across 240 product categories.

Additionally, Pic Copilot offers virtual try-ons for various skin tones and body types, with over 160 model options. Users can upload personal images for customized visuals.

The platform also provides U.S.-specific graphic templates for major holidays.

During a Black Friday trial, over 35,000 users globally created marketing content using Pic Copilot, saving an average of $200 each. The virtual try-on feature enabled more than 10,000 merchants to generate over 80,000 model images.

With innovations like Pic Copilot, Alibaba aims to empower SMEs by enhancing efficiency, reducing costs, and boosting sales performance.
