MIPT Develops Advanced Imaging Program for Space Object Monitoring

Researchers at the Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology (MIPT) have created a program designed to generate high-quality images of celestial objects, enhancing monitoring of near-Earth space and navigation in space. This development was announced by the MIPT Scientific Communication Center.

The new modeling technology aims to strengthen current monitoring systems and pave the way for innovative approaches in optimizing space observations. The algorithm developed enables the processing of images captured by ground-based telescopes, improving the accuracy of tracking the movements of objects in near-Earth space, including space debris and other bodies within the Solar System.

"Detailed modeling of telescope operations and other optoelectronic devices will significantly enhance the effectiveness of new navigation systems for spacecraft, as well as improve the quality of space monitoring systems for observing celestial objects and debris. This is particularly relevant given the rapidly increasing amount of space debris and defunct satellites in low Earth orbit," stated MIPT representatives.
