North India is experiencing a significant drop in temperatures, with Delhi recording a minimum of 8 degrees Celsius. A western disturbance is expected to bring further changes to the weather this weekend, potentially leading to a continued decline in temperatures across various states, including Uttar Pradesh.

On December 6, Delhi recorded a maximum temperature of 28.2 degrees Celsius and a minimum of 7.2 degrees Celsius. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) forecasts that minimum temperatures will remain between 7 and 8 degrees Celsius in the coming days.

A western disturbance is anticipated to impact Jammu and Kashmir on December 8, while a circulation is forming over parts of Rajasthan, Haryana, and Delhi. The combination of these weather systems could result in rain and snowfall in mountainous regions, along with rain in several plains areas.

In Jammu and Kashmir, temperatures have plummeted significantly, with Srinagar recording a minimum of below -2 degrees Celsius. The IMD predicts further drops in temperature, with rain and snowfall expected due to the western disturbance.

As the cold intensifies, dense fog is likely to envelop regions including Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, and Haryana. The IMD has issued warnings regarding the impending weather conditions, stating that fog will begin to settle from the night of December 7.

In Rajasthan, cold wave conditions are already affecting several areas, with minimum temperatures dropping by 2 to 3 degrees Celsius on December 6. The IMD indicates that the cold will increase further with the arrival of the western disturbance.

Jharkhand is also expected to see weather changes in the next few days, with minimum temperatures potentially decreasing by 3 to 4 degrees Celsius. Light fog is anticipated in several districts.

In Bihar, a rapid change in weather is noted, with the western winds likely causing a drop in temperatures. The IMD warns of sudden temperature falls after sunset, particularly in cities like Patna, Muzaffarpur, and Bhagalpur.
