A devoted Star Wars superfan, Luke Kaye, is auctioning his extensive memorabilia collection valued at £1 million, citing its overwhelming size as the reason for the sale. The 56-year-old from Swindon, who has changed his name to Luke Skywalker, once held the Guinness World Record for the largest Star Wars memorabilia collection in the UK.

Having started his collection at age 13, Kaye has amassed items that now fill a warehouse. His passion for the franchise has led to friendships with notable actors, including Carrie Fisher, who even stayed at his home, and Mark Hamill.

Kaye explained, “Every penny I earned went back into this collection. It needs to be cherished by others now.” The first auction, taking place on December 6, features a Jedi lightsaber expected to fetch at least £7,000, alongside 50 collectible 'Master Replicas' items.

Among the highlights are original Star Wars toys, full-sized replica models, and personalized number plates valued at around £10,000. Auctioneer Tim Weeks described the collection as “the most unique and outstanding” he has ever handled, anticipating fierce bidding from collectors worldwide.

Public viewing for the auction is available on December 4 and 5, with over 16,000 items set to be auctioned in January. Kaye's collection represents a significant piece of Star Wars history, making this auction a must-see for fans.
