AI's 'common sense' mimics human thought, but lacks real-world grounding: Study

Dr. Jamal Mustafa Saeed, a professor at Al-Awram University, stated that while artificial intelligence possesses a form of 'common sense,' it primarily focuses on processing artificial data. However, it strives to transform this 'sense' into an objective perspective that reflects reality and aligns with concrete validation. During his meeting with journalist Hamdi Rizk on the 'View' program on Sada Al-Balad channel, Dr. Saeed clarified that artificial intelligence is not a complete substitute for human intellect. Instead, it is a component of advanced technology that encompasses various elements, including robots, medical advancements, precise diagnostics, and genetic treatments. He further explained that artificial intelligence relies on converting information into numbers and analyzing them through algorithms capable of inference. This grants it significant capabilities in mathematical analysis, but it still lacks the experiential element that characterizes human perception.
