Kia EV9 Launches as Premium Electric SUV with Advanced Technologies

Kia has introduced the EV9, a seven-seat electric SUV aimed at establishing its presence in the premium electric vehicle market. The EV9 boasts 385 horsepower and a range of up to 540 kilometers.

Built on Kia's E-GMP platform, the EV9 features an 800-volt architecture for ultra-fast charging, recovering up to 240 kilometers of range in just 15 minutes. The Long Range version with a 99.8 kWh battery achieves a maximum range of 541 kilometers.

The interior is equipped with a triple panoramic display, including two 12.3-inch touchscreens for infotainment and instrument cluster, and a 5.3-inch display for climate control. Notable innovations include In-Car Payment for parking and integration of ChatGPT for enhanced driving experience.

Offering advanced connectivity, the EV9 supports remote updates, on-demand features via Kia Connect Store, and a digital key 2.0 for smartphone access. The AWD GT-Line variant features dual electric motors, delivering 385 horsepower and 600 Nm of torque, accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h in six seconds. The upcoming GT version promises 508 horsepower and a 0 to 100 km/h time of 4.6 seconds.

Safety technologies include Highway Driving Pilot (HDP) for level 3 autonomous driving, utilizing 15 sensors, including lidar radars. The EV9’s design merges robust forms with modern lines, measuring 5.01 meters in length and 3.10 meters in wheelbase.

Inside, the EV9 offers six or seven-seat configurations with sustainable materials. It features three displays and supports bidirectional charging, allowing external devices or homes to be powered. The EV9 is positioned as a premium electric SUV starting at 75,490 euros, combining space, performance, range, and technology.
