Tim Kinsella Auctioning Off Rare Cap'n Jazz Memorabilia, Including Test Pressings and Original Artwork

Tim Kinsella, the influential musician known for his work with bands like Cap'n Jazz, Joan of Arc, and Owls, is auctioning off a collection of rare items from his career. The auction includes test pressings of nearly his entire discography, including records by Cap'n Jazz, Joan of Arc, Owls, Make Believe, and more.

Among the most notable items is the original painting used for the cover of the sole Cap'n Jazz album, Burritos, Inspiration Point, Fork Balloon Sports, Cards in the Spokes, Automatic Biographies, Kites, Kung Fu, Trophies, Banana Peels We've Slipped On, and Egg Shells We've Tippy Toed Over, aka Shmap'n Shmazz. The auction also features a test pressing of a never-released split 7-inch between Cap'n Jazz and Supporting Actress, including an alternate version of the song "Olerud."

Kinsella explained his decision to sell these items, saying, "I'm 50 years old and I need the money more than I need the memorabilia." The auction is live on Kinsella's eBay page, where he showcases and discusses some of the items in detail.
