UAE and Vietnam Strengthen Economic Ties with Comprehensive Partnership Agreement

On October 28, 2024, Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan expressed optimism regarding the visit of Vietnam's Prime Minister, Pham Minh Chinh, to the UAE, emphasizing the potential for enhanced cooperation between the two nations.

The discussions highlighted ambitious opportunities for developing UAE-Vietnam relations, particularly in sectors such as economy, trade, investment, culture, climate action, and renewable energy, which are crucial for sustainable development in both countries.

Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed reaffirmed the UAE's commitment to fostering its relationship with Vietnam since the establishment of diplomatic ties in 1993, aiming to meet mutual interests and aspirations for development and prosperity.

The trade volume between the UAE and Vietnam reached $12.12 billion in the previous year, marking a 38.7% growth compared to 2022. This reflects the continuous expansion of economic and trade relations between the two nations.

Additionally, Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President of the UAE and Prime Minister, announced the signing of a comprehensive economic partnership agreement with Vietnam during the meeting. He noted that Vietnam is one of the fastest-growing countries in Asia and that the UAE is its largest trading partner in the region.

The Prime Minister of Vietnam expressed his country's eagerness to enhance cooperation with the UAE, aiming to explore new avenues for economic and trade partnerships that serve the interests of both nations and their peoples.
