Amnesty International Report Alleges Israeli Genocide Against Palestinians in Gaza

Amnesty International released a report titled "'You Feel Like You Are Subhuman': Israel’s Genocide Against Palestinians in Gaza," documenting alleged Israeli actions constituting genocide against the Palestinian population in Gaza. The report, covering events between October 7, 2023, and early July 2024, details violations committed by Israel in the Gaza Strip. Researchers interviewed 212 individuals, including Palestinian victims and witnesses, local Gaza authorities, and healthcare workers. The findings suggest that Israel has committed acts prohibited by the Genocide Convention, intending to destroy the Palestinian population in Gaza. Agnès Callamard, Amnesty International’s Secretary General, stated that Israel treated Palestinians in Gaza as subhuman, demonstrating an intent to physically destroy them. The report was presented on February 20 in Florence, Italy, and followed by a screening of "Investigating War Crimes in Gaza," a documentary by Al Jazeera.
