Jordan and Greece have agreed to enhance their bilateral cooperation, particularly in the economic, investment, tourism, and cultural sectors. This was announced on Tuesday following a meeting between Jordan's Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi and his visiting Greek counterpart George Gerapetritis in Amman.
The two ministers also discussed developments in Palestine, Syria, and Lebanon, and ongoing efforts to address these issues. They emphasized the importance of securing a lasting ceasefire in Gaza and ensuring immediate and sufficient humanitarian aid to the entire territory.
Safadi briefed Gerapetritis on the outcomes of an Arab meeting held in Cairo on Saturday, which highlighted the collective Arab commitment to securing a ceasefire, delivering aid, and advancing a just and comprehensive peace based on the two-state solution.
Gerapetritis praised Jordan's role in safeguarding holy sites in Palestine and maintaining stability in the region. He called for prioritizing the delivery of humanitarian aid to Gaza, reopening the Rafah crossing, supporting the UN Palestinian relief agency, and ensuring the flow of aid into Gaza through Jordan's air bridge.
Gerapetritis' visit to Jordan is part of a regional tour that also includes Qatar, Palestine, and Israel.
