New Zealand Invests in Cattle Feed Technology to Reduce Methane Emissions

Researchers at the University of Pretoria's (UP) experimental farm have implemented cutting-edge technology in cattle feed machinery, thanks to an investment from the New Zealand government. The animals are fitted with radio frequency identification (RFID) tags, which activate the machines to dispense a specialized feed.

This technology enables researchers to precisely control and monitor the amount of feed each animal consumes, leading to a significant reduction in both methane and CO2 emissions.
