Pakistan Launches VPN Registration for Freelancers

編集者: Veronika Nazarova

The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) has introduced a new registration process to facilitate the legitimate use of Virtual Private Networks (VPNs) by freelancers. This initiative allows users to register their VPNs using mobile phone numbers, making it easier for those without static IP addresses to maintain seamless operations.

The system aims to simplify the VPN registration process for the IT sector, ensuring uninterrupted access for freelancers relying on mobile data connections. Since its launch, over 31,000 VPNs have been registered successfully.

This development follows the PTA's recent efforts to streamline VPN registration for organizations and freelancers alike. Now, software houses, call centers, banks, embassies, and individual freelancers can easily register their VPNs online through the PTA's official website.

Freelancers will need to provide proof of their project or company affiliation along with an IP address for connectivity. Those with fixed IP addresses can obtain them through their internet service provider.
