AI Developed in Russia Predicts Lung Metastases, Enhancing Cancer Diagnosis

In Russia, a new artificial intelligence has been developed to predict lung metastases, which may significantly improve cancer diagnosis and treatment.

Oncologist Ilya Uvarov stated that this technology will enhance the accuracy and speed of assessing metastasis risks, thus benefiting cancer patients. He emphasized that lymphovascular invasion is a negative indicator that often necessitates additional treatment.

“Cancer of any organ is insidious; it is often detected only in the late stages when it is challenging to help the patient. However, medicine is advancing. With the help of neural networks, invasions can be recognized, positively impacting the diagnosis and treatment of the disease,” Uvarov explained.

Despite the advancements, Uvarov cautioned that AI may not be effective in all cases.
