Google Launches Gemini AI Image Generator for Docs

Google has introduced a new image generator feature in Google Docs, powered by its Gemini AI technology. This tool enables users to create photorealistic images directly within their documents, enhancing the visual aspect of reports, presentations, and personal projects.

To use the image generator, users can navigate to the 'Insert' menu and select 'Help Me, Create an Image.' This opens a sidebar where prompts can be entered to generate images based on user descriptions, ranging from landscapes to abstract concepts.

The feature offers flexibility with three aspect ratios and various layout options. It utilizes the Imagen 3 algorithm for generating lifelike images, which can be customized in size and style, including options like watercolor.

Once an image is created, users can select their preferred option or request additional images if needed. The generated image can be easily inserted into the document, with editing options available for repositioning or replacing the image.

Currently, the image generator is available only to Google Workspace subscribers, including those on Gemini Business, Enterprise, Education, and Google One AI Premium plans. The rollout is gradual, starting with Rapid Release domains, with full availability expected by December 16 for Scheduled Release domains.

This new feature represents Google's commitment to integrating AI into productivity tools, allowing users to enhance their documents creatively and efficiently.
