The Matera Basilicata 2019 Foundation has announced a public call for a scientific director for a new training program focused on digital curatorship. This initiative is part of the AIRFARE project, which won the TOCC public notice aimed at promoting digital transition in cultural and creative organizations.
The training program aims to develop a new professional role, the digital curator, and will accept 30 participants selected nationally. Spanning nine months, the curriculum will delve into the intersections of digital art, artificial intelligence, and digitized cultural heritage. The format includes workshops, focus groups, thematic ateliers, and a final summer school.
The Matera Basilicata 2019 Foundation, leading the project alongside local partners, is seeking qualified professionals to oversee the program. The scientific director will be responsible for designing, coordinating, and supervising the training activities, ensuring quality and innovation throughout the course.
Key responsibilities include providing technical and scientific supervision, planning content meticulously, and organizing practical activities efficiently. Collaboration with the project manager and team members will be crucial, as will the selection and management of experts and tutors to support various phases of the project.
Applicants must possess a master's degree or equivalent in relevant fields such as Art History, Museology, or Digital Humanities, along with at least five years of documented experience in the museum, artistic, or digital sectors, particularly in curating digital collections. Advanced knowledge of digital technologies applied to art, including experience with artificial intelligence and open-source software for curation and digital manipulation, is also required.
