Abandoned Dog Coco's Sad Story Sparks Community Concern

A black and tan female dog named Coco was found abandoned near the Finsley Gate Tesco Extra store in Burnley, UK, raising alarm among local animal welfare advocates.

Discovered by a member of the public, Coco was taken to a veterinary clinic where a microchip scan revealed her identity. Unfortunately, she was in dire condition, suffering from urine scalding and unable to use her back legs or toilet independently.

The RSPCA was notified after Coco's discovery on September 2. Reports indicated that her owner had inquired about the cost of euthanasia but never brought her in for assistance.

Despite attempts to contact Coco's registered owner, the RSPCA has been unable to locate them, as they appear to have moved. The charity is now appealing to the public for any information that could lead to Coco's owner.

RSPCA Animal Rescue Officer Kelly Nix expressed deep concern for Coco's welfare, highlighting the heartbreaking reality of pet abandonment. She emphasized the importance of compassion and responsibility towards animals, particularly when they require medical attention.

The RSPCA urges anyone with information about Coco to contact their appeals line at 0300 123 8018, citing incident number 01344248.
