The U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) will host a summit on stablecoin tokenization, bringing together CEOs from major cryptocurrency firms, including Coinbase, Ripple, and Circle. The summit, announced on Friday, February 17, 2023, is part of Acting Chairman Caroline Pham’s initiative to explore the potential of stablecoin-backed tokenization.

Pham, who took over as acting chair in January, has been pushing for a regulatory sandbox to test the use of non-cash collateral through distributed ledger technology. The summit will be an opportunity for the CFTC to engage with industry leaders and explore the potential benefits and risks of this new technology.

The summit is expected to include CEOs from Coinbase, Ripple, Circle, Crypto.com, and other digital asset firms. A specific date and further details for the forum have not yet been announced.
