Otto Waalkes' E-Guitar Fetches €56,100 at Auction

A unique E-guitar designed by comedian Otto Waalkes has sold for an impressive €56,100 in an online auction, far exceeding its estimated value of €10,000.

Jens Ritter, the Pfalz-based artist and guitar maker, expressed his delight at the auction's outcome, stating, "This is sensational." Ritter has previously crafted guitars for international stars like Lady Gaga and Prince.

The guitar, known as the 'Otticaster,' was initially created in 2021 and is displayed in a museum in Emden. The auctioned piece, shaped like Waalkes' iconic 'Ottifant' character, was sold to a bidder from Berlin. The proceeds will benefit the charity project 'Ein Herz für Kinder.'
