Joyful barking filled the halls of HanseMesse Rostock as visitors and their furry friends arrived on the second weekend of October. The air buzzed with excitement from dog lovers wearing colorful T-shirts with slogans like 'My Best Friend' and 'Dog Love.' Everywhere, bright eyes admired the magnificent purebred dogs proudly standing beside their owners, awaiting their turn for evaluation.
For two days, HanseMesse Rostock transformed into a paradise for 22,906 dog enthusiasts. Breeders and dog lovers from 18 countries gathered to celebrate the best four-legged friends in the world. A total of 270 different breeds were represented, showcasing dogs of all colors and varieties—from elegant Afghans to muscular Bull Terriers. The tension was palpable as the first dogs were called for judging, with owners nervously grooming their pets as judges walked through the rows with critical eyes and notepads.
This year's winner of the 'Best in Show' title was a lovely Beagle named Eva. Her owner, Sven Röhlke from Alveslohe, could hardly believe his luck.
The 21st International Dog Show attracted over 20,000 visitors, who were thrilled by the variety of dogs and numerous offerings. Over 70 exhibitors presented fantastic, unique products and professional services. From treats to stylish accessories and cozy cushions, every dog owner found the perfect gift for their furry friend.
The event not only offered shopping opportunities at great fair prices but also a diverse program in the 400 m² show arena. Visitors could enjoy spectacular performances and competitions. In 18 judging rings, the purebred dogs were closely examined by judges. Breed clubs introduced themselves and provided advice on care, grooming, and special characteristics of the dogs.
The fair served as an ideal platform to learn about the latest trends and products and to connect with other dog owners. Local service providers were also present, offering advice, assistance, and giveaways. Whether it was dog training, grooming, or nutrition, there was a competent answer for every question.
