Escalating Conflict in Lebanon and Israel: Casualties Rise Amid Ongoing Attacks

On November 3, 2024, Israeli airstrikes targeted the city of Ghazieh, south of Sidon, Lebanon, resulting in three fatalities and nine injuries in Haret Saida, a densely populated area. The Lebanese Health Ministry reported that the attacks occurred without prior evacuation warnings.

In a related incident, Israeli forces struck near a government hospital in Tebnin, also in southern Lebanon. Local officials noted significant damage to the healthcare facility, which may soon be rendered inoperative.

Meanwhile, in Israel, 19 individuals sustained injuries during a Hezbollah rocket attack on the city of Tira, located approximately 25 kilometers northeast of Tel Aviv. The Israeli police confirmed that the injured were transported to hospitals for treatment, with no reported fatalities.

The United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) indicated that the humanitarian situation in Lebanon has deteriorated beyond the severity of the 2006 war. Recent Israeli evacuation orders for residents in Baalbek and Nabatieh precede airstrikes targeting Hezbollah interests in these areas.

As of today, the Lebanese Health Ministry has reported over 1,900 deaths resulting from Israeli attacks since September 23, 2023. The Israeli military stated that 38 soldiers have also died in Lebanon since the commencement of ground operations on September 30.
