Meta AI, the artificial intelligence platform of Meta's products and services, has been used by over 500 million people, confirmed CEO Mark Zuckerberg.
During a conversation with investors, Zuckerberg stated that the company's goal is to become the most widely used AI assistant in the market by the end of 2024. Specific numbers regarding competitors like ChatGPT and Gemini were not disclosed.
Launched less than a year ago, Meta AI is accessible through platforms such as Instagram, WhatsApp, and Facebook, although it cannot be fully disabled within these services. Its current functions include text and image generation, topic recommendations, and internet research summaries.
Despite some errors and issues, the tool has reportedly improved user engagement, increasing time spent on Facebook by 8% and sessions on Instagram by 5%.
Additionally, there are rumors that Meta is developing a search engine to compete with Google, although this was not addressed by Zuckerberg.
