China Successfully Launches Pakistani Satellite into Orbit

Beijing, January 17, 2025 – China successfully launched a Pakistani satellite into space from the Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center on Friday.

The satellite, named PRSC-EO1, was deployed at 12:07 PM local time by a Long March 2D carrier rocket, which also transported two additional satellites, Tianlu-1 and Lantian-1, into orbit.

This launch marks the 556th flight mission in the Long March rocket series. Over recent years, China has been actively launching satellites for Pakistan, strengthening their enduring partnership in the space sector.

In 2024, China launched a multi-mission communication satellite for Pakistan, and in 2018, two Pakistani satellites were successfully placed into orbit. PRSS-1 is Pakistan's first optical remote sensing satellite, while PakTES-1A is a small observation spacecraft.
