ISLAMABAD - The Pakistan Space and Upper Atmosphere Research Commission (SUPARCO) and the Institute of Space Technology (IST) announced the International Conference on Applications of Space Science and Technology (ICAST 2025), scheduled for November 18-20, 2025, at IST in Islamabad. This event is poised to be the largest gathering of space science and technology experts in Pakistan's history, focusing on the theme 'Space for Sustainable Development.'
ICAST 2025 merges the legacies of IST's International Conference on Aerospace Science and Engineering (ICASE) and SUPARCO's International Conference on Space (ICS). The collaboration aims to advance space science, foster innovation, and tackle pressing global challenges.
The conference will feature eight thematic tracks: Aeronautics and Astronautics, Satellite Technology, Positioning, Navigation and Timing, Remote Sensing and Geographic Information Science, Environmental Science and Climate Change, Information and Communication Technologies, Astronomy and Astrophysics, and Space Law, Management and Outreach. These tracks aim to inspire transformative ideas and solutions to address critical issues like climate change.
ICAST 2025 invites researchers, academics, industry professionals, and students to participate. The Call for Abstracts is open, encouraging submissions that reflect innovative research across various disciplines. Selected abstracts will advance to full manuscript submission, providing contributors with international visibility.
The conference will include keynote speeches from global space pioneers, interactive workshops, and a product exhibition showcasing advancements in space technology. Networking opportunities will facilitate collaborations among academia, industry, and government sectors. Supported by the Higher Education Commission (HEC) of Pakistan and the National Center of GIS and Space Applications (NCGSA), ICAST 2025 is set to be a milestone event in advancing space science and technology in the region.
