Alcazar Energy Partners Acquires Rights for Major Wind Power Project in Serbia

On October 15, 2024, Alcazar Energy Partners announced an agreement with RP Global to acquire rights for the development, construction, and operation of the Celzijus 1 onshore wind power project in Serbia, valued at approximately $200 million (€183 million).

The Celzijus 1 project, with a capacity of 200MW, is situated east of Belgrade and is part of a larger pipeline of wind and solar projects totaling 768MW.

This acquisition represents a significant step for Alcazar Energy as it aims to build a $600 million portfolio of renewable energy assets in Serbia, aspiring to become the largest renewable energy platform in the region with a total asset target of $1.2 billion.

Once operational, the Celzijus 1 project is expected to generate over 1,700GWh of clean energy annually, contributing to Europe's shift towards sustainable energy.

Upon completion, the wind farm will provide sufficient clean energy to power more than 31,000 households each year and will prevent the emission of approximately 426,000 tonnes of CO2e annually.

Daniel Calderon, co-founder and managing partner of Alcazar Energy Partners, expressed gratitude to the leadership teams at both companies for their commitment to this agreement, highlighting Serbia's importance for energy needs in the Western Balkans and Central Europe.

Gerhard Matzinger, CEO of RP Global, emphasized the collaboration's potential to ensure the project's completion with efficiency, while also expanding their core projects and delivering clean energy to numerous households.
