Pakistan Invites Saudi Arabia to Invest in Key Infrastructure Projects Amid Strengthening Bilateral Ties

ISLAMABAD - On October 12, 2024, Pakistan's Federal Minister for Board of Investment, Abdul Aleem Khan, invited a Saudi Arabian delegation to invest in various public sector organizations and infrastructure projects, including the M6 and M9 motorways. This invitation came during a Round Table Ministerial Conference aimed at enhancing government-to-government (G2G) cooperation.

During the conference, Khan emphasized the attractive investment opportunities available in Pakistan, highlighting the government's commitment to improving infrastructure and efficiency within governmental departments. The Saudi delegation, led by Minister for Investment Sheikh Khalid Bin Abdul Aziz Al Faleh, expressed interest in forming joint ventures and contributing to the development of the communication sector.

The discussions also included plans to connect Karachi Port with existing motorways and expedite the completion of the Karachi-Hyderabad and Sukkur motorways. Khan noted the significant reforms in Pakistan's private sector, which he believes are restoring investor confidence.

A reception was held in honor of the Saudi delegation, attended by various dignitaries and business leaders from both countries. Khan acknowledged Saudi Arabia's historical support for Pakistan during challenging times and reiterated the potential for collaboration in business-to-business and government-to-government projects.
