Textron Aviation Launches Starlink Connectivity for Aircraft

Textron Aviation has introduced a high-speed internet connectivity solution for its Cessna Citation series 560XL and Beechcraft King Air series B200 and B300 aircraft. This follows the FAA's issuance of a Supplemental Type Certificate (STC) to AeroMech, enabling Starlink's high-speed internet connectivity via its low Earth orbit (LEO) satellite constellation. This service promises more reliable connectivity in remote areas where traditional in-flight Wi-Fi may be unavailable.

Customers of Beechcraft, Cessna, and Hawker will benefit from direct factory technical support, maintenance, and modifications facilitated by Textron Aviation Inc., through a global network of service centers and mobile service units. Brian Rohloff, Senior Vice President of Customer Service, stated, "In today's interconnected world, our customers expect to use their aircraft as a mobile office." With the inclusion of Starlink for popular King Air models and Cessna Citation Excel, XLS, and others, the company aims to enhance in-flight connectivity experiences for its users.

The installation of this upgrade can be scheduled at Textron Aviation service centers across North America and select international locations. The AeroMech STC utilizes Starlink's independent system, which includes an antenna, power supply, and router, requiring only electrical power from the aircraft.
