Foxconn and NVIDIA to Build Taiwan's Largest AI Supercomputer

Foxconn, in collaboration with NVIDIA, is set to construct Taiwan's largest supercomputer at the Hon Hai Kaohsiung Supercomputing Center. This advanced system will leverage NVIDIA's Blackwell architecture and the GB200 NVL72 data center platform.

Once operational, the supercomputer aims to enhance cancer research, develop large language models, and innovate smart city technologies, positioning Taiwan as a global AI leader. Foxconn, the world's largest electronics manufacturer, is focusing on smart manufacturing, smart cities, and electric vehicles.

The supercomputer will facilitate digital twins, robotic automation, and urban infrastructure projects in Kaohsiung. Construction is currently underway, with the first phase expected to be operational by mid-2025 and full deployment planned for 2026.

James Wu, Foxconn's Vice President, stated, "Powered by NVIDIA's Blackwell platform, Foxconn's new AI supercomputer is one of the most powerful in the world, representing a significant leap forward in AI computing and efficiency." The GB200 NVL72 features 36 NVIDIA Grace processors and 72 NVIDIA Blackwell GPUs per rack, providing 130TB per second of bandwidth, ideal for training large AI models and executing complex tasks in real-time.
