Pogba's Contract Termination Talks with Juventus Following Reduced Ban

Paul Pogba, the Juventus midfielder, is reportedly in discussions to terminate his contract with the Serie A club. This development follows a recent ruling by the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS), which reduced his initial four-year doping ban to just 18 months. The decision allows Pogba to resume competitive football by March 2025, with training set to begin in January.

Pogba, who tested positive for the banned substance DHEA in August 2023, initially faced a significant setback in his career. His claims of accidental ingestion were dismissed, leading to a lengthy suspension. However, the recent ruling has provided him a chance for a fresh start, although it appears this will not be at Juventus.

Juventus management, including sporting director Cristiano Giuntoli, has expressed uncertainty regarding Pogba's future with the club. Despite acknowledging his past contributions, there is a consensus that moving forward might be the best option for both parties. Pogba is expected to seek new opportunities once he becomes a free agent, as Juventus aims to cut their financial commitments linked to his contract, which runs until June 2026.
