Throughout the UK, many areas experienced sub-zero temperatures, with Shap in Cumbria recording minus 11°C and Heathrow registering minus 5°C. The average low temperature in northern Scotland during this period is typically around 0.3°C, while in England, it is about 1.5°C to 1.6°C.

Met Office meteorologist Zoe Hutin indicated that Saturday is expected to remain cold, with widespread temperatures dropping below freezing overnight, especially in eastern regions. Hutin stated, “Another chilly night is anticipated on Saturday, but temperatures may begin to recover somewhat by Sunday and into Monday.”
