On October 17, 2024, pilots of a Russian airliner reported an unidentified flying object (UFO) while flying at approximately 8,000 meters over Moscow. The Airbus A320, en route from Sheremetyevo Airport to Minsk, observed a mysterious object resembling a dome or wing with yellow-red stripes.
The object was below the aircraft's altitude and did not affect the flight, according to the crew. This incident follows a similar sighting on July 25, where pilots noticed red and white balloons at 50 meters below their flight level, prompting notifications to air defense authorities.
In April, another Russian passenger aircraft crew spotted a silver-colored object resembling a balloon while flying from Moscow to Volgograd. Despite these sightings, flights continued without incident.
