Beyoncé has officially been named the greatest pop star of the 21st century by Billboard. The music industry magazine made the announcement as part of its ongoing series highlighting the artists who have most defined pop stardom for the last 25 years.
Beyoncé's achievement is underscored by her impressive record of 32 Grammy wins, making her the most awarded artist in Grammy history. She has also accumulated a total of 99 nominations throughout her career, including 11 nods for her groundbreaking 2023 album, Cowboy Carter.
On the Billboard charts, she has achieved nine No. 1 hits and 24 top 10 songs on the Hot 100. Eight of her albums have reached the No. 1 position on the Billboard 200, starting with her solo debut in 2003, Dangerously In Love. Previously, she was a dominant force as the frontwoman of Destiny's Child.
Billboard's list also ranks Taylor Swift as No. 2 and Rihanna as No. 3 among the greatest pop stars of the century. The top 10 includes other notable artists like Drake, Lady Gaga, and Adele.
