Fifteenth Farabi International Festival Concludes with Recognition of Human Sciences Scholars

The fifteenth Farabi International Festival, focused on human and Islamic sciences, took place today, December 17, 2024, in the Hall of the Summit of Heads of State, attended by Masoud Pezeshkian, Minister of Science, Research, and Technology, alongside various university leaders and academic figures.

The festival, organized annually by the Ministry of Science, aims to identify and introduce outstanding talents in the fields of human and Islamic sciences. It showcases significant works and theories, as well as new methods and projects among Iranian and non-Iranian scholars.

This year's festival featured 16 scientific groups, including ethics, religions and mysticism, history, geography and archaeology, law, language, literature and linguistics, social sciences and communications, Islamic human sciences, economics, management and finance, educational sciences, psychology and sports sciences, political sciences, international relations and regional studies, Quranic sciences, exegesis and hadith, jurisprudence and principles, philosophy, logic and theology, information technology, information science and librarianship, studies on the Islamic Revolution and Imam Khomeini, interdisciplinary studies, and studies on art and aesthetics. The best works were recognized in four categories: research books, final research reports, doctoral dissertations, and master's theses.

In total, 2,585 works were submitted, with 2,222 in the domestic section and 383 in the international section. Awards will be given to 17 works in the domestic section and one in the international section, categorized by adult and youth levels.

Nine distinguished scholars in human sciences will also be honored, along with a top translator from Arabic to Persian. Additionally, two top scientific associations from academic and seminary backgrounds will be recognized based on the recommendations of the Ministry's research deputy.

The festival also includes categories for recognizing deceased prominent figures in human and Islamic sciences and living reference figures. Awards will also be given for the best translator from foreign languages to Persian and vice versa, as well as for the best theorist and scientific associations in academic and seminary categories.

A special award for the development of Quranic culture will also be presented, along with a peace and friendship award for international researchers who have made significant contributions in this area.
