Artificial intelligence cannot replace human consciousness: Expert

Dr. Jamal Mustafa Saeed, Professor of Fine Arts, stated that artificial intelligence has made great strides in various fields, but not in medicine.

During his meeting with journalist Hamdi Rizk on the 'Nadhra' program on Sada Al-Balad channel, Dr. Jamal Mustafa Saeed added that artificial intelligence has become a fundamental element in diagnosis and treatment over the past ten years, and it is expected that its role will continue to expand in the future.

He pointed out that modern technology, despite its enormous capabilities, cannot completely replace human surgery, because human skills and experience involve crucial factors that cannot be compensated for.

He also pointed out that the use of artificial intelligence in Egypt is still recent, as it is used from a theoretical perspective in fields such as human studies, history, literature, and arts, explaining that technological developments will not eliminate the need for the human element, but will work to enable it and improve its capabilities, stressing that artificial intelligence cannot acquire awareness or self-development as the human mind does, which makes it a supportive tool and not an alternative to humans.
